MOS DEFINITELY SLEPT ON

Did any of you know that Mos def got an album out? Well I didnt, which is strange cause Mos Def is my "Mans n them." Now from what I understand, the album is titled "True Magic" and was released on Dec.29 2006 on Geffen records without any inserts or artwork. (As you can see to the right) Word on the CityStreetz is that Mos Def is either making an artistic statement or an attempt to get dropped from his label. Now from what Ive heard, (cause I havent actually heard the album) the album is wack and doesnt sound like anything from todays music. There hasnt been one good review concerning this album. Mos Def is a gifted artist in my opinion so Im going to lean towards the rumor that he may want off of his label. Funny thing is that the album is actually #151 on the Billboard chart.
Here's the tracklisting along with the producers for each track...

1."True Magic"
DJ Epik

2."Undeniable"
Rich Harrison

3."U R The One"
Minnesota

4."Thug Is A Drug"
Minnesota
5."Crime & Medicine"

6 ."A Ha"

7.
"Dollar Day"
Unknown
8."Napoleon Dynamite"

9."There Is A Way"

11."Murder Of A Teenage Life"

13."Perfect Timing

What do you think? I see a few well known names here but that doesnt always guarantee a hot album especially if the "flop" is a set up. I say if Mos Def is unhappy on Geffen they should let him go!! There's nothing worst than waisted talent. (Yall remember the movie that quote came from right?) Anyway, best wishes to Mos def.
