RETURN OF THE CHILD PRODIGY

Word on the City Streetz is Prodigy from the rap group Mobb deep will be making a come back this year.. as a solo artist!!! Yes, I said solo; which is strange to me being that Havoc seemed to hold the group down lyrically for a few years now. Does Prodigy have what it takes? Evidently he seems to think so. Prodigy will be droppin two solo albums this year. The first album is titled "Return of the Mac" and the second album is titled H.N.I.C 2 which will be produced solely by The Alchemist and released on Koch Records.

50 Cent Producer Disco D Commits Suicide

Dave Shayman, better known as producer Disco D was found dead yesterday of an apparent suicide. Dave was only 26 years old. Dave was best known for his work for 50 Cent on Ski Mask Way. He also produced for AZ, Pitbull, Nina Sky, and Trick Daddy. Dave fought manic-depression for much of his adult life. He told URB in April of 2006, "It got to the point where I tried to kill myself. It was bad."

This is really sad an unfortunate. R.I.P Disco D.

EXECUTIONS IN AMERICA

For many years now I have studied the history of executions in America. I've researched the methods of execution along with the execution process. The subject of execution is about as controversal as abortions. Some people believe that two wrongs dont make a right. Some people believe that no one should "play" god. Some people believe that the death penalty is a deterrant; which has been proven wrong. Some people just believe in the ole "Eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth" motto. I must say that I have been on both sides of the arguement. If one of my family members committed a crime I would want he or she to have a second chance. If a criminal is innocent I would like to think that he or she would found not guilty; which isnt always the case. These are thoughts that make me feel like execution is wrong. On the other hand, there are people in the world who have committed heinous crimes; crimes that make you want say "off with his head."

What if I were innocent and on death row? I would want to be freed! What if I were brutally raped and tortured? My family would want justice!
First, every crime should be investigated to the fullest extent.
Second, the punishment should fit the crime!
On that note, I have decided to post all executions in America as they are carried out. Since the beginning of the year there have been three executions, which I have posted below.

EXECUTED

Corey Duane Hamilton
Executed: January 9, 2006 06:14 p.m. CDT by Lethal Injection in Oklahoma

Summary: During a robbery of Lee's Famous Recipe Chicken in Tulsa, Hamilton and three accomplices herded four employees into the restaurant's walk-in cooler and shot each once in the back of the head at close range with a .38 handgun, then left them to die. The robbery netted slightly more than $2,000. William Hamilton, Corey Hamilton's brother, Donnie Daniels and Tyrone Johnson all were sentenced to life in prison for their part in the crime. Hamilton received the death penalty in part because one of the co-defendants testified he was the shooter.

Final/Special Meal: Combination barbecue platter, with chicken, chopped brisket, ribs and hot links, baked beans, bread and barbecue sauce, and a large side dish of baked beans, sauce and extra bread.
Final Words: In his last words, he offered no apologies but said: "I wish everyone could experience the love of God the way I have. I love everyone. To the victims' families, I pray that you have peace and all that you are in need of." As the mixture of lethal drugs flowed into his veins, Hamilton said, "Into thy hands I commit my spirit, O Lord."

Carlos Granados
DOB: 09-18-70
Executed: January 10, 2007 06:21 p.m. CST by Lethal Injection in Texas
Summary: Georgetown police went to the apartment of Katherine Jiminez and found Katherine and her three year old son, Anthony, on the floor. Katherine had been stabbed approximately 30 times and Anthony had been stabbed to death with a long kitchen knife. Katherine survived and later testified that following an argument her live-in boyfriend, Carlos Granados, he stabbed her repeatedly. Granados then left the room, and Katherine heard Anthony scream, “I don’t want to die. Don’t kill me. I don’t want to die.” Stabbed in the chest, Anthony died moments later. When Katherine’s family became worried that they had not heard from her, they contacted police, who forced their way inside. On entering the apartment, officers saw Granados with a large kitchen knife covered in blood. The officer ordered Granados to release the knife, but Granados told police, “Shoot me, just shoot me.” Granados eventually dropped the knife and was handcuffed.

Final/Special Meal: Fried chicken, pizza and a soft drink.
Final Words: "Kathy, you know I never meant to hurt you. I gave you everything and that's what made me so angry. But I never meant to hurt you. I'm sorry."

Jonathan Bryant Moore

DOB: 04-04-74

Executed: January 17, 2007 06:21 p.m. CST by Lethal Injection in Texas

Summary: San Antonio police officer Fabian Dominguez was driving home from work when he spotted a burglary in progress at a residence. Dominguez, who was still in his uniform, pulled into the driveway of the residence, blocking a car occupied by Johnathan Moore, Pete Dowdle and Paul Cameron, who were finishing their second trip to burglarize the home. Gun drawn, Dominguez approached the vehicle and repeatedly ordered the three men to get out of the car to no avail. After taking the car keys from Dowdle, the driver, Dominguez approached the passenger side of the car with his gun drawn at which point Moore, who was in the front passenger seat, pulled out a .25 caliber automatic gun and shot Dominguez. Moore got out of the car, recovered the car keys and retuned them to Dowdle. Moore then grabbed Dominguez’s gun and shot the officer three times in the head. Following his arrest, Moore signed a full and detailed confession. His accomplices, who were arrested a short time after his arrest: Peter Dowdle is serving a 25-year prison term. Paul Cameron is serving a life sentence.

Final Words: Johnathan Moore repeatedly apologized to the officer's widow. "It was done out of fear, stupidity and immaturity. I’m sorry. I did not know the man but for a few seconds before I shot him. It wasn’t until I got locked up and saw that newspaper, I saw his face and his smile and I knew he was a good man. I am sorry for all your family and for my disrespect — he deserved better. He wished her happiness. He then counseled a friend who was a witness to quit using heroin and methadone. He told his father that he loved him.

SISQOMAN RETURNS

Word on the City Streetz is that Sisqo of Rnb group Dru-Hill is making a comeback this year. Isnt this just great? Dont get me wrong, I was feeling Sisqo untill he started yelling "Yeaaaaaaaah, yeaaah, yeah" on every track. Indeed it was his trademark but it got on my damn nerves. Is it just me or did Sisqo disappear right after rumor pertaining to his sexuality began to surface. (*Wondering why*)

You must not know 'bout B...Mrs. Beyonce that is.. Seems thats B has been busted in a lie. She claims that she wrote the song "Irreplacable" for all women when in fact, Ne-yo wrote the song. Recently Ne-yo was a guest on BigBoys neighborhood radio show where he was confronted with the rumor that beyonce wrote the lyrics. Ne-yo stated he was responsible for writing the hit which provoked Big Boy to call his bluff. Well..... BigBoy played the instrumental and Ne-Yo nailed the song word for word and flow for flow. Looks like Mrs. B stands for BUSTED!!!!!

Jay-z said it best with this line "I don't think it's meant to be, B But she loves her work more than she does me." So much so that she is willing to lie about her accomplishments? Not a good look B.

NIGGA GOING AWAY

Now I'm pretty sure that you all are wondering who is going to jail. Well no one is going to jail but word on the City Streetz is that Ebony and Jet magazine will refrain from printing the word. Bryan Johnson, vice president and editorial director of Johnson Publishing Co. says “The N-word” has been swung like a clumsy nightstick by Whites for years, trying to demean, dehumanize and destroy the dignity of Black Americans.”

I have to agree with Mr. Johnson on the meaning of the word Nigga, although in the hood the word "Nigga" can be a beautiful thing.
Example: "Whats up my nigga?" "Give me love my nigga!" Anyway, I respect the fact that two of the top Black mags are steppin up and taking responsibility for what they are printing and promoting. On that note I think I may take a step in tryin to clean up my vocabulary. Do you guys really think I'll clean up my vocabulary?.... NIGGA PLEASE!!!

R.I.P YVONNE DE CARLO

Mrs. Yvonne De Carlo who "Lily" (Herman's wife) on The Munster pasted away Jan 8, 2007. The show air for only two years from 1964-1966 but was a hit and favor of the young and old. De Carlo died of natural causes at the age of 84 at the Motion Picture & Television Country House and Hospital in Woodland Hills, California, and is survived by two children, son Bruce and step-daughter Bari.

GILL AINT GAY, HE'S GANGSTA

Johnny Gill has struck back at the rumors that say he is a homosexual. Sister 2 Sister magazine sat down with Gill and when the subject arose, this was Mr. Gill's response..

"All that shit. Now come with all that shit now, and I've got a son now to protect with all that ignorant bullshit. And it's, like, now you're getting ready to see who Johnny is," said Gill."That's my best friend for life," he continued. "And no matter what anybody wants to say, you're not splitting us up from being best friends. There's nothing you can do about it. Put it that way."

BOBBY DOWN

Well just when we thought it couldnt get any worst!! Word on the City Streetz is that Bobby Brown's Tv show "Being Bobby" has been given "the axe." Producers didnt quite embrace the idea of Whitney being off the show and did not accept the shows new angle. The shows new angle was to included Bobby's current girlfriend Karrine Steffans (Supahead) which would have been perfect being that they live together. (I reported that info a while back)


Bobby better think quick because now that Whitney is gone the cash flow aint what it use to be honey!! If Bobby keeps spiral down at this rate his ass is soon to be "SUPA" broke.

BACK TO REALITY

Seems that Kanye West is always in the limelight. Lets take a sec to think back..(*Vison becomes cloudy as I slowly drift off.*)
*Kanye showed his ass during a charity event for the hurricane katrina victims.. Kanye got up on stage at the Mtv European Awards and showed his ass when he didnt when an award that he was nominated for.. (Shakes head and mumbles "right, right") He damn near harrassed European pop singer Amelle when she turned his invite to dinner down... hmmm.... *)

Sounds like Kanye West can use a dose of reality right? Well word on the City Streetz is that he will be gettin a dose of reality very soon, but not exactly the dose he deserves. Kanye has some how landed his own reality TV show with HBO. Kanye will be working with Larry Charles who was the executive producer for the shows Seinfeld, Mad About You and another HBO hit, Curb Your Enthusiasm.
There's no word on the title of the show or its official air date. Keep you all posted...

CARAMEL'S CREAM

Now you know ya girl Posh is always "puttin you on" to something new right? Well there's a hot new online novel called "Caramel Cream" and its 100% official. You when I say something is official, it is!!!

The story will take you on a journey of two sisters Caramel and EroTica and their cousin Sincere. There is a lot of suspense and drama that will keep you on your toes. Reading this novel is almost like reading "True to the game" or "The coldest winter ever." If you are into black heritage books then you know what time it is on that note. But what makes Caramel's Cream special is that its an improv novel!!! Caramel's Cream has three authors who take turns creating chapters. Noone knows what the other will write so they feed off of each developing crazy twists and turns along the way. Caramel's Cream is unique which is an understatement because I cant find the words to describe such talent.

I'll let you all be the judge but trust that you wont disagree with me.

Lil Wayne cant seem to keep the heat off his behind. First beef with Jay-z and The Clipse, then the pic of him and baby kissin' and last but not least he has beef with Gillie the kid. Gillie stated that he wrote rhymes for Wayne but of course Weezy denies this!! Word on the City Streetz is that Lil Wayne recently bumped headz with a few members of Gillies entourage and recieved a broken jaw. (Talk about gettin "broke off something proper-like" LOL). A member of Gillie's entourage also stated that Wayne should take some time out to analyze his substance abuse.

DIGGIN, BUT NOT FOR GOLD

Word on the CityStreetz is that Kanye is diggin European pop singer Amelle (of The Sugababes). He's diggin her so much that he became furious after she declined his attempts tp take her out to dinner. So furious that he had his assistant call Amelle to state that Kanye didnt appreciate being ignored! His assistant also told Amelle that Kanye was not use to being treated like that and that she should be more considerate the next time she sees him. Amelle stated that she is in a relationship and very happy.

The nerve of Kanye!!! First he lashes out at the Mtv Europe Awards because he didnt win an award he was nominated for and now this crap!! There's a thin line between cocky and confident and Kanye's ass is just plan ignorant!! LOL!! I say if Kanye wants a date he should beg! "On your knees. Get down boy, go 'head get down."

Word on the City Streetz is that James Brown has not had a burial. His body remains in a sealed casket at his home on Beech Island. It seems that members of his family have not settled issues surrounding his estate as well as where he is to be buried.

I LOVE NEW YORK

Ok so for those of you who watched Flavor of Love should know that Mrs. New York has her own reality TV show which is a spin off of Flavor of Love called "I Love New York." New York basically whisked 20 male contestants off to her mansion where they will all be competing for her love. On this show you have a lil bit of everything from spanish to german which is interesting. Rumor has it that Flav will be appearing on the show to get New York back at some point.(Just a rumor we'll have to watch and see) If you guys are up on myspace you should hit up New Yorks page. A while back New York mentioned something about VH1 telling her that her show will be a bigger sucess than Flavor of Love. My prediction is that it wont come close. Why do I feel this way? The reason is because women watched the show for the cat fights and men watch for the cats fights as well as the female contestants. Its highly unlikely that men will wanna watch a bunch of guys arguing and running around in swimming trunk. The only way New York's show would generate Flavor Flav ratings is if New York was a complete dime!!! Although New York has her assets she doesnt not have what it takes to make millions of guys tune in every week to watch.

I think I will tune in when I get a chance... By the way, there is a contestant on the show that has been nickname "Chance." I happen to feel him cause he's hood and he doesnt take no $hit. (Now you know Chance and Ny's mother are bumping heads right?)

MOS DEFINITELY SLEPT ON

Did any of you know that Mos def got an album out? Well I didnt, which is strange cause Mos Def is my "Mans n them." Now from what I understand, the album is titled "True Magic" and was released on Dec.29 2006 on Geffen records without any inserts or artwork. (As you can see to the right) Word on the CityStreetz is that Mos Def is either making an artistic statement or an attempt to get dropped from his label. Now from what Ive heard, (cause I havent actually heard the album) the album is wack and doesnt sound like anything from todays music. There hasnt been one good review concerning this album. Mos Def is a gifted artist in my opinion so Im going to lean towards the rumor that he may want off of his label. Funny thing is that the album is actually #151 on the Billboard chart.

UNDER THE WEATHER...

Posh is under the weather today so I wont be posting any news from the CityStreetz. I have decided to talk a day off to get better. Untill then, read up on the latest of news because there is plenty to read here on the CityStreetz. If I feel better I may hit yall up with some more news but untill then... I'll holla.

SADDAM HUSSEIN EXECUTED

Ok, so I know this news is a few days old but who really cares about Saddam Hussein? Well the answer is practically noone in America, but overseas some people are fuming!! Word on the CityStreetz is that Saddam went to his death like a coward. He held his head low and clutched a Qu'ran with the look of fear on his face as he walked towards the gallows where he hung untill his death. Before Saddams execution members from Saddams Baath Party stated "The Baath and the resistance are determined to retaliate in all ways and all places that hurt America and its interests if it commits this crime." Sounds serious.

This statement is the very reason for why I decided to mention Saddams execution. Many people think that because Saddam is gone that the war is over. We should always remember that with every leader there are followers and some of these followers aspire to be leaders. Which means now that Saddam is dead the terrorism will become worst. Not only does his followers remain but there are followers who will want to take his place. Everyone wants to be on top! This is why the American government cant keep their damn noses out of everyone elses affairs. Dont get me wrong, I hate terrorism and I feel that it is the most cowardice act next to child murder/abuse/molestation, but you have to wonder why these people hate Americans. Notice how I said "Americans" and not "Our American government," who is responsible for all acts against other countries. Although it is our government who strikes we as Americans are hated. Terrorists will be attacking America long after Bush and his crew are out of office but of course US Americans will be around to pay for the actions of our government.

Didnt mean to go off on a rant but I think we need to speak on the decisions of our government because they are making these decisions on behalf of US "The Americans." Just food for thought.... On that note I say to all, "Do not live in fear but be aware." How you like that? Its not a famous quote but my own personal quote that I will stick by for the New Year. I hope you all will do the same. I was going to post a video of Saddams execution but after spilling my personal feelings about the subject, it would be contradicting to do so. Violence begets violence.... (Even the promotion of it)

DARRENT WILLIAMS KILLED

Denver Broncos football player Darrent Williams was shot in a drive by shooting early New Years day around 4am. Darrent, age 24 and two other were riding home in a limo after partying at a club in downtown Denver. Word on the CityStreetz is that an arguement occured between Darrent's friends and another group of men inside the club. Darrent was not directly involved in the arguement but was shot when a car drove by the limo and opened fire. Williams was pronounced dead on arrival at a local hospital.

All I have to say to this is that its time for all the senseless killing to stop. seems like people kill for the smallest things nowadays. What ever happened to morals, respect and just using some common sense!!
